Back In the Groove

It’s Monday. I’m a few days out of the hospital now and slowly trying to get back into the normal groove of everyday life. Of course, if you consider having to endure two IV infusions every single day to be normal, then I suppose I’m right on schedule. Thankfully, the girlfriend is an RN, so she can handle the infusions right here at home. That’s a hell of a lot better than making daily trips to a clinic or hospital. After spending enough time in those places lately, I’m in no hurry to return anytime soon.

For now, I’ve been taking it easy and catching up on some horror movies. Last night, I watched Trick ‘r Treat, which is always a good choice during Spooky Season. A couple of days ago, I went back to some old favorites, including Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, along with Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween IV, and Halloween V. Nothing like spending a few days with ghosts, masked killers, and other assorted lunatics to help pass the time!

With Spooky Season now more than halfway over, I’ve still got a few movies on my watchlist that I want to squeeze in before Halloween arrives. Backrooms, Sleepy Hollow, and A Nightmare Before Christmas are among them. There’s only so much time left before the calendar starts shoving Christmas down our throats, so I’d better make the most of the creepy stuff while I can!

Over in the world of football, the Bears took on the Falcons on Sunday, and we finally got to see Caleb Williams back under center after missing time with a leg injury a few weeks ago. The team came out and played hard, eventually pulling off a 31–23 victory. It’s always good to see Caleb back in action, and even better when the Bears manage to put another win in the books. I’ll take it! Now, if they can keep putting together performances like that, maybe we can enjoy a little less heartburn on Sundays. Then again, this is Chicago football we’re talking about, so I won’t get too comfortable just yet.
