Spooky Stuff

It’s Wednesday. We were out checking out Halloween displays the other day when we came across this place—and I knew right away it was going to be something special. The first clue? A skeleton perched on the mailbox, casually sipping a beer like it didn’t have a care in the world. But that was just the beginning. From there, things escalated quickly—an entire army of skeletons was storming the house, joined by ghouls, werewolves, and all sorts of other spooky creatures crawling across the yard. It didn’t take long to realize we’d stumbled upon the home of a true Halloween fanatic.

Watercraft Skeletons

It’s Tuesday. My dad lives on a lake down in southern Illinois and recently sent me this photo of a Halloween display near his house. I have to hand it to whoever set this one up—they went all out. You’d think skeletons would have a natural fear of water, considering they’re not exactly buoyant and all. But apparently that doesn’t stop them from having a little fun on the lake. These bony daredevils seem perfectly happy out there, soaking up the autumn sun and showing off their watersport skills. I guess when you don’t have muscles or skin to worry about, chilly water isn’t much of a concern either!

TRON: Ares

It’s Monday. It was another great weather weekend here in Illinois. Really enjoyed that. I went out with a buddy to see the third movie in the Tron series, Tron: Ares on Saturday. Despite average reviews, I really enjoyed it. Visually it’s absolutely stunning and the music by Trent Reznor was fantastic. If you’re a Tron fan, I think you’ll come away from it with a grin on your face feeling satisfied.

On Sunday, the girlfriend was out in the driveway working on a Halloween project, so Abby and I hung out with her and soaked up the nice weather. After dinner, we watched the NASCAR race from Vegas and took it easy for the rest of the night. No complaints here!
