Mixed Weekend

It’s Monday. That was a really nice weekend. We had a mix of sun, rain, and wildfire smoke from our neighbors to the north. The smoke is really bad for people with respiratory issues and it’s lowering our temperature as well. Not good. So, if you guys up there could put those fires out, that would be great.

I caught a really interesting show on the National Geographic channel called Ocean with David Attenborough. The film explores the importance of the ocean and its vital role in the planet’s survival, highlighting the beauty of marine life and the threats it faces, while also offering a message of hope and potential for recovery. If you’re interested it can be seen on the National Geographic channel or streamed on Hulu and Disney+.

I also caught the Nascar race in Michigan on Sunday. With speeds reaching 201 MPH, it’s the fastest track on the circuit. It was a good race that was a heartbreaker for William Byron, who lead most of the day until being outrun by Denny Hamlin in the final laps and ultimately running out of gas. From there Denny easily ran away with the win.

Well, not much more to say… back to work, I guess.

Auto Goodness

It’s Friday! Summer is here and the toys are out! I checked out the opening night of the downtown Plainfield car show Tuesday and it was a blast. There were storms nearby but that didn’t stop the people from coming out to see all the automotive goodness. The girlfriend and I took in the show and had dinner outside at Barrel & Vine on the main strip. The food was very good and we had a great view of the cars arriving at the show. I’m looking forward to many more of these throughout the summer.

Okay, enjoy a gallery of photos from the show along with Friday’s double babes & double jokes!

FRANKENSTEIN

It’s Thursday. One of my favorite writer/directors, Guillermo del Toro, recently released an official teaser for his upcoming movie, Frankenstein. Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment. With critically acclaimed films like Pan’s Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, and The Shape of Water, I’m greatly looking forward to seeing his adaptation of Frankenstein in November on Netflix.
