It’s Monday. My life these days is one long, bewildering cycle of doctor’s appointments, clinic visits, and IV infusions. The good news is I’m still here. The bad news is I’ve become so accustomed to the routine that I sometimes joke that if I did die, I’d probably still show up for my next appointment out of habit.

As ridiculous as that sounds, it doesn’t feel all that far-fetched. Fighting these infections has become my full-time job. I’m still working whenever and wherever I can, but those hours are dwarfed by the amount of time I spend bouncing between medical appointments. At this point, my calendar looks less like a work schedule and more like a hospital itinerary.

Anyway, time to begin another week…
