Negative

It’s Monday. Well, that was an experience. After an entire week on Paxlovid, I’m finally over Covid. There was the chills, snot, and fever but probably the worst part was the lack of energy. Both the girlfriend and I spent the entire week doing absolutely nothing. We just felt empty. One thing that helped fill the time was her suggestion that we watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy. We’ve been wanting to watch the extended versions anyway, so this was the perfect opportunity. With each film running three hours long, we easily soaked them all up and forgot about Covid for a while.

One other issue was a nasty side-effect of the Paxlovid. There’s a horrid metallic taste that develops in your mouth and it sticks with you the entire time you’re taking it. It’s especially strong in the beginning and it completely ruins your appetite. So you have no energy and no desire to eat. Not a very good combo when your sick.

Now I’m just looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. After staying in the house for the past week, I get the feeling that it’s not going to be easy.

Liberation Day?

It’s Friday! It has been a long week dealing with Covid but I’m finally reaching the end. My symptoms have been gone for a couple days now and I have just one more dose of Paxlovid remaining. My girlfriend is doing better as well, but she still has a few more days on Paxlovid to go. I’m glad we got through it without serious complications, but damn, what a waste of time the whole experience has been. Avoid it if you can.

Mass firings, companies laying off workers, historic market losses, prices on nearly everything going up… anyone enjoying our liberation yet?

I have a new reader submitted amateur photo to share with everyone today. And double babes & double jokes as well. Enjoy!

Val Kilmer

It’s Thursday. I just wanted to take a moment to mention the passing of Val Kilmer. I’m a fan of many of his films, but it was his role as Chris Knight in Real Genius that first got my attention. I then saw him as Nick Rivers in Top Secret! and I was hooked. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Saint, Tombstone, Batman Forever, Heat, The Doors, Willow, and of course, Top Gun. All great movies. I just watched Jay & Silent Bob Reboot last night and was pleasantly surprised to him in that. So sad to see him go.

If you’re interested in the man and his career, check out his official documentary Val, released in 2021.
