It’s Tuesday. Great Scott! The DeLorean DMC-12 with the Back To The Future modifications has become one of the most recognizable cars of all time. There were a total of three made for the first movie and an additional three for the two sequels. From what I’ve read, The “A” car, also known as the hero car, is at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The “B” car, used for driving scenes and stunt work, was mostly destroyed in the train scene, but was partially rebuilt and is now in a private collection. The “C” car, used for interior shots, was disassembled and its parts were used to create a replica for Universal Studios Japan.
Dave, one of my readers, recently attended a wedding in England and this gorgeous DeLorean Time Machine showed up. He said that the owner was there and claimed that it is the original DMC-12 used in what I assume was the first film (No Mr. Fusion, hover kit, or wild west modifications). Knowing that the “A” and “C” cars are both accounted for, this DMC-12 would have to be the “B” car. Of course, I have no way to confirm that this is indeed the “B” car. It certainly looks authentic, but it’s important to be aware that there are countless replicas out there. That being said, all we can do is admire Dave’s photos and thank him greatly for allowing me to share them with all of you! Go ahead and check out the gallery below.

Hi, Keep, I have been a fan of your site for quite a few years and I want to wish you and the site a Happy 30th birthday this October. I have donated a few pictures along the way. I was lucky to see a car recently that I think you will like. My girl and I went to a good friends wedding in England and they arranged to have this car show up. It is the original Back to the Future car that was made for the movie. The guy who owns it lives in England and trailers it to various events. The bride and groom got to sit in it one at a time and zip around local roads with the owner driving. Of course, others have tried to replicate this car, but this is the one and only! He has been offered large sums of money but so far he hasn’t sold the car. I hope you like the photos. KEEP up the good work! Dave
