Sweet Jeebus!

It’s Wednesday. Considered the “Nobel Prize of Hot Rodding” the Don Ridler Memorial Award is presented to the best in show at each year’s Detroit Autorama, also known as America’s Greatest Hot Rod Show. This year’s winner is Dave Kindig with his multi million dollar 1953 Corvette Concept Car ‘TwelveAir’. It features a hand made all aluminum body enhanced with cutting edge technology and custom parts. It is the first ever unibody Corvette with a LS based V12 engine with close to 1000hp. It’s simply one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen. Check out the video to appreciate the ridiculous level of detail put into this 100% custom Corvette.

Festive Beemer

It’s Tuesday. A friend of mine caught this festive BMW out in front of the local Farm & Fleet store. I’ve seen people do this to their cars around the holidays, but I’ve never gotten close enough to see how they managed to attach all the lights to the body of the car. Well, I don’t know about the others, but my buddy said this BMW owner used clear packing tape! He also said that it looked good from a distance. I’m guessing that it wasn’t very attractive up close.

I bet that it’s fine when driving around town… but on the highway, that would get interesting!

Christmas Time Again

It’s Monday. With Thanksgiving now fully in the rearview mirror, the countdown to Christmas is on. Here at my place the Thanksgiving and Fall decorations have all come down and been replaced with all things Christmasy. I started to make space in my office for my car tree, which is currently a 3-foot pre-lighted tree that has severed me well. The problem is I get a few new car ornaments every year and over the past 7 years the tree is now getting overcrowded. I’m thinking that it may be time to upgrade to a 4-foot tree after the holidays.

One thing that was nice, the Bears didn’t lose on Sunday! Of course, they didn’t play Sunday because they were busy losing on Thanksgiving day. If you happened to see that Thursday game against the Lions, then you shouldn’t be surprised to hear that the Bears’ head coach Matt Eberflus is now the Bears’ former coach. The firing of Eberflus marks the first time in Bears’ franchise history that the team has parted ways with a head coach during the season. At the same time, the team announced Thomas Brown, who recently became the offensive coordinator, was elevated to interim head coach. The reality is the season was over for the Bears several games ago. Sadly, once again, we have to look forward to next year and hope for the best.

To kick off the Christmas season, I’ve decided to go with the Internet classic and favorite of mine, “Ding Fries Are Done” featured above. Enjoy!
