Green!

It’s Monday. I hope everyone had a good St. Patrick’s Day. In Chicago the tradition of dying the river green continued as it has since 1962. I’ve never gone into the city to witness it, but thousands do it every year. Afterward many check out the parade and, of course, hit the bars.

I spent St. Patrick’s Day over at my parent’s place enjoying some mighty fine corned beef and beer. I’m normally not big fan of corned beef, but when it’s done right, it’s damn good!

I also got caught up on several hours of Mecum recordings from their recent event in Glendale, Arizona. I love these things. It’s like one big parade of automotive goodness that goes on for hours and hours. And, when recorded, skipping the commercials is a breeze!

Oh well, back to the grind…

Sizable Amateur Goodness

It’s Friday! That was a long week for me. I’m relieved that it’s over and I’m looking forward to a do-nothing weekend. Maybe even a boring weekend. That would be nice. Oh, wait—there’s St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday. My step-dad is a proud Italian, but he makes a killer corned beef. So I think my Sunday will involve Nascar, beer, and a belly full of really tasty corned beef.

It’s Friday again so let’s get right to it. I have a new amateur photo to share with all of you today. And then there’s the double babes & double jokes. Sounds like a great way to wrap up the week, eh? I thought you’d agree… enjoy!

It’s Done

It’s Thursday. We buried my aunt yesterday. It was an unusually beautiful mild day that started with a private service for her and close family. After that was the Funeral Procession out to the Abraham Lincoln Cemetery where she was put to rest with her husband who passed away roughly 20 years ago. I was doing fairly well after we arrived until the three pipers began playing Amazing Grace on bagpipes. That was hard. We wrapped it up later in the afternoon with a lunch at a local restaurant.

If there’s anything good to come out of this, it was seeing cousins, friends, and other family members that came in from near and far. It was great seeing everyone over this past several days, some of which I hadn’t seen in many, many years. A bittersweet experience. And the older I get, the more frequent these experiences are likely to be. Not sure if I’m ready for this.
