It’s Friday! Summer is in full swing with the smell of barbecues and fireworks in the air—it must be Independence Day! On July 4th American’s everywhere celebrate our country’s birth as an independent nation. So crank up the grill, pour a few drinks, and kick back and enjoy the fireworks!

And remember, nobody wants to spend the 4th in the Emergency Room. When lighting fireworks of any kind, don’t hold them in your hand. It’s either that or start getting used to the nickname “Stubby”.
Hot Weekend
It’s Monday. I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend. It was a hot & humid 4th for all of us in Illinois. We had the Vette out, plenty of good food, fireworks, and more food. The best part? Not having to deal with work for three days in a row. And sleeping in. Sleeping in was nice.
Nascar was in Chicago over the weekend for the Chicago Street Race. I went last year but decided to watch from home this year. Both the Saturday and Sunday races were very good. They were also both won by Shane van Gisbergen, one of the best road course racers that I’ve seen in quite a while. The guy is a road course machine. And strangely, both races were completed without a single raindrop falling! Although, it was close on Sunday afternoon. And sadly, this was the final year for Nascar in Chicago. Rumor has it they’re looking at San Diego next, but so far nothing has been confirmed. It was fun while it lasted!
Back to work…
