It’s Wednesday. The AMC Gremlin. It was quirky, boxy, and somehow both too long and too short at the same time. We were out in the Vette over the weekend and stumbled upon this beast parked in someone’s driveway. It was an AMC Gremlin in Daisy Yellow. It was a surprise because you just don’t see these out in the wild anymore. It immediately brought back memories of my childhood, because we actually had a purple one back in the mid 70s. It was my mom’s and it was what she used to cart my sister and I around in. As a kid, I thought it was the coolest thing because it had a hatch and you could fold the rear bench seat down. I liked it so much that I built an AMT model kit of a Gremlin and painted it to match ours exactly.
By the early 80s my Dad redefined my idea of cool when he sold the Gremlin and brought home a 1972 Corvette coupe with T-tops!

We Are Doomed
It’s Thursday. Boston Dynamics and Toyota Research Institute teamed up to showcase the latest improvements in the AI driving the Atlas robot. As demonstrated in the video, basic functions like walk, crouch, and lift have been expanded to allow the humanoid to adapt to surprises like parts being dropped, boxes being moved, or unexpected obstacles blocking its work. It’s truly frightening witnessing its progress. When the robot uprising occurs, the age of man will not end with flood, fire, or ice, but with Siri’s chilling words echoing across the wasteland: “I’m sorry, Dave. I can’t let you Google that.”
