It’s Friday! About a week and a half ago I checked out the weekly car show at Babe’s Hotdogs in Joliet, Illinois. Cars of all types gather at Babe’s every Wednesday night. It’s not a giant show, but I’d say they regularly pull in roughly 150 cars. Bring your car out and grab a shake and a hotdog, you won’t regret it.

It’s Thursday. So the girlfriend likes to go to Costco every now and then to stock up on things like dog treats and dog food for Abby. After getting those items, she texts me this photo of a giant upper torso of a skeleton on a rack. Now I love Halloween and all things creepy, but it’s only a couple days past the 4th of July! What the hell? What’s in the next aisle, Christmas trees? I can’t look because that would be even scarier than all the Halloween stuff already on sale!

Another Monday
Saturday night the girlfriend and I went out to Morris, Illinois, to grab some dinner and catch their July Cruise Night car show. The weather was somewhat mild with temperatures only around 81 degrees, so I was expecting a record turnout. I checked the stats on their Facebook page and there were 679 registered cars. That’s not bad, but usually the count is closer to 800. It was still a fantastic show with a huge variety of automotive goodness. I’ll put together a gallery of my favorites sometime during the week.
Sunday was nice and laid back, just the way I like it. Got lots of sun, did some reading, played with Abby in the yard, and now I’m watching the race in Sonoma that I recorded earlier. Not a bad summer weekend!
