It’s Thursday. Blew a tire in Georgia last night. I’ve never had a blown or flat tire before. I initially thought it was just the road because it was in shitty condition, but after a few seconds it became pretty obvious. I have a donut on it now which got us to Birmingham. In the morning I’ll be looking for a replacement. Right now, sleep!

It’s Wednesday. Spent the day yesterday doing some shopping and then hit Venice Beach for some sun. It was another beautiful day that was somewhere in the upper 80s, so I was pretty happy. Later in the afternoon we met some friends from Pine Island for dinner. We had some really good seafood and margaritas at a waterfront restaurant called Hooked. The band was playing and the food was excellent. Will have to remember that place the next time we’re down here.
It was fun while it lasted but it’s time to pack it up and hit the road.

Home Again
The drive from Florida back to Illinois was uneventful with the exception of the tire blowout in Georgia in the middle of the night. The tire shredded pretty bad but thankfully I had a spare ready to go. The next morning I found a tire place just down the road from our hotel and they were able to get us fixed up with a new tire and back on the road after 45 minutes or so.
I enjoyed the trip but I don’t think we’ll do so much traveling from city to city while we’re down there. It was just too much driving. Next time we’ll go back to picking a spot and staying there, it’s just more relaxing that way.
