Beaver Van?

It’s Tuesday. Although this van isn’t quite as bitchin’ as the one I featured yesterday, it has something else going for it—it’s an official beaver sighting! This Lil Beaver Brewery van was spotted by Myles, a reader who saw it at the Great Taste of the Midwest festival in Madison, Wisconsin. And what better place for a beaver sighting than a beer festival? Very cool! Thanks for sending it in, Myles!

Keep, I don’t remember seeing this on your sight. Drink a beaver! Seen at the Great Taste of the Midwest, i.e. beer fest, in Madison, WI. -Myles

Bitchin’ Van

It’s Monday. Everyone have a good weekend? Mine was pretty good. We had some beautiful weather on Saturday so the girlfriend and I hopped into the Vette and took a spin down to her parent’s place in Mahomet, Illinois. We had the whole day so we took our time going down, stopping in several small towns along the way. We’ve found that there’s always something interesting in small towns, like this totally bitchin’ van we found in Forest, Illinois. It was just sitting off the main road in a small gravel lot all by itself. I thought that it might be for sale, but there was no sign. I looked it up and it appears to be a Chevy Van 90 which were made between 1967 and 1970. They were a very popular vehicle to customize, especially in the 70s. The paint work was spectacular and the old school Cragar wheels really complete the look. And, bonus points for the side pipes! A very cool find that would be a hit at any car show!

We eventually made to to her parent’s house and had a great time with them. Her Mom even had cake, so I couldn’t turn that down. They loved the Vette and were very happy we stopped by. We started heading back home and grabbed some dinner on the way. It was late by the time we got home and were both exhausted. All that fresh air—I slept like a baby!

Last Show

It’s Friday! A buddy and I went to the last of the weekly Plainfield car shows for the season. It was sad to see the cars leaving the show knowing they wouldn’t be back until next summer. It went out on a high note though with packed streets, lots of Vettes, and many cars that I hadn’t seen before. One of the most impressive was this Polaris Slingshot pictured above. At first glance it looks fairly stock—until you notice the extra wheel! These things are born with only three wheels and this one has four along with a fully independent rear suspension! And at roughly 2,000 pounds, this turbocharged lightweight has got to be an absolute blast to drive.

There were many more classic cars in attendance and you can check out a few of them in the gallery below. And since it is Friday, you can also expect the usual double babes & double jokes as well. Enjoy!
