Warming?

It’s Monday. Mother Nature took a huge dump on our neighbors in Northern Indiana over the weekend. There were areas that got over 3 feet of the horrid white stuff which thankfully we avoided. Our problem for the last couple weeks has been sub-zero temperatures and drifting snow. However, we are supposed to enter a warming trend starting today.  Warmer temperatures and rain should help wash away all this snow and salt. I’m definitely looking forward to that.

Spent the weekend mostly indoors. We did take a drive out to the Kankakee River Saturday afternoon to check out the ice jam that was causing flooding to some of the homes along the river. The nearby power plant was going to start releasing some of the warmer water from their cooling lakes directly into the river to help melt the accumulated ice and force it downriver. With the temperature expected to get above freezing and rain in the forecast, I can only see conditions getting worse out there.

And winter isn’t done with us yet.

Friday Amateur

It’s Friday! There are huge piles of the horrid white stuff at the park near my house. I took our dog, Abby, out there and she went nuts jumping in, over, and occasionally through them. She loves the snow and cold about as much as I love the sun and the summer heat. That reminds me, we’re in for more snow today. At least Abby will be excited.

Still no Nascar. Preseason races start February 4th with the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum in Los Angeles. Very much looking forward to that. The first regular season race is the Daytona 500 on February 18th. And I just heard that retired Jimmy-Fucking-Johnson will be in the 500. It should be fun watching him lose. Heh.

So how about we wrap this week up nicely with a new amateur photo, double babes, and a mess of jokes? Yeah, that should do it. Enjoy!

1967 Corvette Restomod Goodness

It’s Thursday. It’s hard to type with drool on the keyboard. Sure, it’s $649k but it’s an outstanding 1967 Corvette that unites the classic styling of the C2 with the technology of today. What could be better? The answer is nothing—nothing can be more better!

The only question is, who do I have to murder to get it?

One of the sweetest ’67 Corvette resto-mods you’ll ever see is up for sale at Garage Kept Motors, a Grand Rapids, Michigan dealership that specializes in classic and specialty online auto sales for buyers and sellers.

This build was managed and owned by Rands Restorations of Grandville, Michigan, with the custom body work and beautiful red paint done by Ron Sall Body Werx of Zeeland, Michigan. Steve Holcomb Pro Auto Custom Interiors of Knoxville, Tennessee was responsible for the custom interior.

Underneath the car is an SRIII Motor Sports Tubular Chassis that uses suspension components from a C5 and C6 Corvette. Power is provided by a GM Performance LS427/570 horsepower V8 crate engine that’s connected to a Tremec Magnum six-speed manual transmission.

Also installed were Schott Fuel Series wheels with 275/40/18 front tires and 315/35/20 Red Line Diamond rear tires, along with electric power brakes with drilled and slotted rotors and powder-coated calipers, E-Stopp electric emergency brake, Ford 8.8-inch positraction differential, and Sweet Thunder SS side exhaust system.

The black, gray and red interior includes Dakota Digital HDX instrument cluster and matching clock, Vintage Air custom performance HVAC, Ididit tilt steering column with Billet Specialties steering wheel, and Resto Audio AM/FM/Bluetooth radio.

The body, which still looks pretty much stock, does have tucked front and rear bumpers with Detroit Speed headlight motors.

You might want to sit down when you hear the price – a whopping $649,900. If that’s a little steep for your budget, they do have a wide variety of other vehicles at much lower prices, including a pretty nifty 1955 Chevy 150 ambulance for $49,900, so it’s worth a trip to check out their inventory.

You can find out more about this custom Sting Ray by contacting Garage Kept Motors by phone at 616-888-3230 or by email at sales@gkm.com. Several dozen photos of the car are also online at GarageKeptMotors.com.
