It’s Monday. We had one of those heat & humidity weekends. Plenty of rain, storms, and even a couple tornados. The tornados were weak and didn’t do much damage, so that was a good thing. There was also quite a bit of rain but it was badly needed, so again, that was a good thing. The humidity was a different story. Very sticky and uncomfortable. Definitely not a good thing.

The girlfriend and I met a friend for dinner and drinks on Friday night at a country club. I noticed that they had a Cuban sandwich on the menu, so I couldn’t pass it up. My favorite Cuban is down in Florida at the Columbian restaurant, but this one was pretty damn good. Needless to say, I went home with a full belly.

And the good food didn’t end there! We got together with some family on Saturday night for a big cookout. We had all kinds of good eats but it was the beef tenderloin steaks that took center stage. And damn did they ever turn out nice—so juicy and tasty! I don’t know why, but every now and then a steak just goes down so well. Wrap all that up with a giant slice of apple pie and a scoop of ice cream. Once again my belly was full and so happy!

Thankfully, on Sunday we took it easy. I caught some sun, the Nascar race in Pocono, and the final SRX race of the season. Not a bad weekend at all.
