It’s Wednesday. Well, here we go again.

I woke up this morning feeling shaky with what seemed like a fever. I already had a scheduled appointment at the Wound Care Clinic, so after that I headed over to Quick Care to get checked out.

The good news is they were able to rule out an infection in my hip wound. It’s healing well and shows no signs of being infected, which was a huge relief.

The next thing they checked was for a UTI, and the initial test came back looking positive for some pretty nasty bacteria. So now I’m back on antibiotics while they culture the sample to figure out exactly what’s growing.

It just feels like every time I think I’m turning a corner, something else pops up. I’m really hoping this is just a minor detour and not the start of another long chapter.

It’s Tuesday. One of my readers recently lost his brother-in-law and is now helping his sister find a new home for his Corvette.

The car is a 1991 Corvette Convertible finished in Dark Red Metallic with a black interior and black soft top. It has just 67,000 miles and appears to be in very nice condition. The convertible top shows a bit of wear, but as most Corvette convertible owners will tell you, the top is rarely up!

The Corvette is listed at a very reasonable $12,250 and is located in Williamstown, Massachusetts, about an hour east of Albany, New York. If you’re interested or would like to see additional photos, you can check out the  listing on Facebook Marketplace.

It’s Monday. Now that was a damn good weekend.

Saturday was about as perfect as you could ask for. Warm sunshine, low humidity, and just enough of a breeze to make spending the day outside enjoyable. Pulled the Corvette out on the driveway, cranked up the music, and gave it a proper hand wash. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Because of the wound-vac attached to my hip—and the Corvette’s wraparound bucket seats—I haven’t been able to even sit in the car since we brought it home from winter storage. In the meantime, it had collected a thick layer of dust and grime, so it was definitely overdue for a bath. Seeing it clean and shining again was worth the effort.

That evening, the girlfriend and I headed over to the monthly Cruise Night in Morris, Illinois. Once again, Mother Nature delivered with perfect weather, and so did the car crowd. A whopping 846 vehicles were officially registered, making for an incredible turnout. As always, I snapped a ton of photos and will be sharing plenty of automotive goodness later this week.

Sunday took us to Plainfield, Illinois, to wander through the summer Farmers Market. There was no shortage of fresh produce and homemade goodies. We came home with fresh cherries, tomatoes, cucumbers, corn on the cob, mushrooms, pea pods, and, because every healthy shopping trip deserves a little balance, a few homemade cookies. I’d call that a successful haul.

I spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing outside reading. After dinner, I fired up the new TV in the garage and settled in to watch the NASCAR race. Good weather, cool cars, fresh food, and racing to cap it all off—it doesn’t get much better than that. It was an all-around fantastic weekend.
