One To Go

It’s Monday. I love sleeping in, especially on a dark, rainy morning like we had yesterday. The steady rhythm of the rain makes the bed feel extra warm and there’s no better place in the world to be. It’s waking up on my own terms—drifting in and out of sleep and knowing there’s nowhere that I have to be. There’s a quiet guilt-free comfort in that stillness, and on days like that, sleeping in doesn’t feel lazy at all. It feels perfectly in step with the mood of the day, a small but satisfying victory before it even begins.

Our temperatures had been climbing for several days—right up until now. Sunday brought heavy rain and thunderstorms, with highs pushing close to 60 degrees. Today, though, we’ve dropped right back into the 20s. So yeah, the shorts are going back into the drawer.

Well, the “holidays” are just about wrapped up. With only New Year’s Eve left, the countdown is officially on—and after the last couple of months, I’m more than ready to move forward. Go ahead and bring on 2026.
