It’s Friday! The countdown to Christmas has an odd way of accelerating as it approaches. Early December feels relaxed and full of promise, but once the calendar flips past the halfway mark, everything speeds up—the days blur together, the lists grow longer, and suddenly Christmas feels both exciting and overwhelming. Each day adds a little more pressure until suddenly Christmas isn’t coming up anymore—it’s right there, knocking at the door. There’s no release in pressure until the final gift is purchased and the last of the relatives go home. Only then can there be rest!

I’m looking forward to watching the Bears take on the Packers at Soldier Field on Saturday night. Home field advantage just might be what they need to beat the Packers this time. I’m hopeful, but remain reserved.

On a sad note, former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and his family were among seven people killed in a plane crash yesterday in Statesville, North Carolina. Biffle, his wife Cristina, daughter Emma, son Ryder, Craig Wadsworth, and Dennis and Jack Dutton died in the crash. The plane took off from Statesville Regional Airport shortly after 10 AM, but then returned and was attempting to land before crashing. Picked by NASCAR as one of its top 75 drivers in history, Biffle was a Hall of Fame nominee for the stock car series and he drove for 18 years at the top of the sport. He was 55 years old.

Okay—A new amateur photo is on tap for today. There’s also double babes and double jokes… enjoy!
