Nascar & SNL 50

It’s Monday. My plan for Sunday was to watch the Daytona 500 in the afternoon and then catch the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary show a couple hours later. Well, that would’ve worked out nicely if it weren’t for rain in Daytona. With the 500 delayed several hours, I had to record it before switching over to the SNL 50th anniversary show.

The SNL show was a blast! Previous cast members and celebrity hosts all working together in sketches new and old. There were also plenty of the best classic sketches and music. It was just cool seeing all of them laughing and celebrating 50 years on the air. They wrapped it up with Paul McCartney performing “Carry That Weight”. Here’s to another 50!

Okay, time to go watch the rest of the 500…

Valentine’s Day

It’s Friday! Well, it’s Valentine’s Day and if you haven’t already done it, you better get moving and pick up something nice for the wife, girlfriend, or both (if applicable!) We did our Valentine’s Day yesterday because it was just going to work out better for both of us that way. She wanted to go out for a nice dinner, so I let her pick the place. Her choice was Cooper’s Hawk, a very nice Steak, Seafood, and wine restaurant. She had been there a while ago, but it was new to me. It was a really nice dinner with parmesan encrusted steak medallions, salmon, lobster, and a killer desert with house-made truffles and tasty stuff I didn’t even recognize. The food was spectacular as was the service. We had a really great time and left with big warm smiles on our faces. If you’ve never been to a Cooper’s Hawk, I highly recommend checking them out.

Since it is Valentine’s Day, it just didn’t seem right going with the usual double babes. Instead I put together a special Valentine’s Day collection that I hope everyone will enjoy.

SEND HELP

It’s Thursday. Send help, please. We received roughly 1 ½ inches of the horrid white stuff, which was almost enough to cover the grass. And yes, once again everyone over-reacted so schools were closed and people cancelled plans. Last I heard, nobody died from what will surely be known as the blizzard of 2025.

Woo-hoo! They fire the engines in Daytona tonight for the Duel races! These will be used to set the majority of the field for this Sunday’s Daytona 500. And I’m definitely looking forward to that!
