Smells Like Sinatra

It’s Thursday. Today I have another music related video. I’ve featured Anthony Vincent’s music before, so you may already be familiar with his work. He has the rather unique talent of taking popular songs and singing them in another completely different style. The song he’s performing in the video featured today is Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, but done in the style of Frank Sinatra. Sure, it sounds crazy, but somehow he makes it work. Go ahead and give it a listen!

Doors Interview

It’s Wednesday. In this episode of his popular show Everything Music, Rick Beato sits down with the two surviving members of The Doors, Robby Krieger and John Densmore. Recorded just last week, Rick covers everything from the band’s formation, their time in the studio, many of their hit songs, to the highs and lows of working with Jim Morrison. If you’re a fan of The Doors music, then I think you’ll enjoy this interview as much as I did.

Daytona 500

It’s Tuesday. Hot damn tamale, baby! The 2025 Nascar season was officially kicked off on Sunday with the 67th running of the Great American Race, the Daytona 500. It was William Byron who manage to dodge two late-race wrecks to win his second straight Daytona 500.

The wildest wreck of the night was when Christopher Bell got turned by Cole Custer with only 5 laps remaining. Bell got pushed into the wall, spun, and struck Preece’s car hard. The hit catapulted the front of Preece’s car into the air, suspending the front of the car like a wheelie before it flipped over and struck the wall. You can see several different angles of the wreck in the video below, but the view from Eric Jones’ car is my favorite. I’ve seen this happen in other types of racing before, but never in a stock car.

Thankfully Preece was okay. To see someone walk away from a wreck like this at 190 MPH is directly attributed to how far safety development in Nascar has come. Truly amazing.
