Ack!

It’s Tuesday. I’m now into day 3 of my COVID-19 journey and I’m doing okay. The girlfriend, not so much. She tested positive yesterday morning which we were both expecting. She started Paxlovid last night so hopefully her symptoms will begin to lessen soon.

I’ve been passing the time by doing some work but I’m finding that it’s difficult to concentrate. I’ve tried doing some gaming, but even that wasn’t very enjoyable. And food… food is not good. Apparently a side effect of the Paxlovid is a metallic taste in your mouth that totally ruins the taste of all food and drink—even jellybeans. Thankfully we only have to take it for five days.

So, it’s back to doing a whole lot of nothing. Again.

F*CK! F*CK! F*CK!

It’s Monday. Well, damn. I was feeling a little off on Friday but I thought it was just because of the miserable sleep I had the night before. On Saturday I had a cough and snot developing. As the day went on I grew increasingly tired and shaky. When getting ready to go to bed the girlfriend suggested that I check my temperature. Thirty seconds later it revealed a 100.5 fever. She was suspicious. She grabbed a COVID-19 test and a couple minutes later it was positive. I have officially lost my unicorn status. F*ck.

So far I’m doing alright with typical cold symptoms like coughing and a fair amount of snot. I started taking Paxlovid Sunday night and will continue with it twice a day for five days. The side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and fatigue… so I got that going for me.

Going to bed.

Battlestar Cadillactica Lives

It’s Friday. Remember that wild custom Cadillac that I featured in yesterday’s Daily Comments? Well, several of you took the time to write in with additional photos, information, and even a video! It is a mystery no more. It turns out that the car is a work of art created for the Houston, Texas, annual Art Car Parade & Festival. It all started back in 1988 with a group of artists that created a 40 car parade that was seen by an estimated 2,000 people. By the following year, the parade had doubled in size and the crowd increased dramatically to tens of thousands! You can learn more about the Art Car Parade & Festival on their website. Or, if you’re in the Houston area, you can check it out yourself on April 10-13th. If you go, be prepared to see some pretty wild stuff! And if you would like to see more of that fancy Cadillac, check out the video featured today.

Okay, the weekend is upon us so once again I’m rolling out the double babes & double jokes! Enjoy!
