Strobe Rocket

It’s Thursday. I love strobe lights. When I was a kid I had a friend who had one in his room. He would turn it on at night and jump all around the room. The effect was so bizarre and I loved it!

Anyway, have you heard about Strobe Rockets? I don’t know where you can get these things (probably fireworks stores?) but they’re pretty damn cool. Check out the video to see one in action!

Trumpy Bear!

It’s Wednesday. Holy crap! I don’t know which is more alarming, the fact that this is real or the frightening possibility that there are people out there that might actually purchase it.

You’ll have to excuse me for a moment, I’m about to lose control of my colon.

Phoebe Cates

It’s Tuesday. Back in the early 80s there was a movie called Paradise that introduced the world to Phoebe Cates. The movie was very similar to The Blue Lagoon and didn’t do very well. It was her second film, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, that got the attention of every teenage boy in the 80s. Why? It was the infamous pool scene that Rolling Stone described as “the most memorable bikini-drop in cinema history.” That scene alone was likely responsible for the wearing-out of the rewind button on countless VCRs across America.

Anyway, I was looking through some old clips on Youtube when I came across this video of Phoebe singing the title track to Paradise. I had no idea that she could sing, but it turns out that she went on to sing “Just One Touch” and “How Do I Let You Know” from her third film Private School. I guess ya learn something new every day, eh?
