Another Monday

It’s Monday. Rain. No, not here but down in Daytona it started raining around lap 15, shortly after a major pileup involving 16 cars. After a 5 hour & 45 minute rain delay they were able to resume racing. As I write this they’re just over half-way with Denny Hamlin in the lead.

Did everyone have a good Valentine’s Day? We decided to celebrate early on Saturday by picking up dinner from La Dolce Vita, a very nice Italian place nearby. We’ve been there several times before and really enjoyed it. As expected, the food was fantastic. Also got her pink roses (her favorite) and goodies. Nice night.

Daytona 500

It’s Sunday! Hot damn tamale, baby! After a long three month off-season it’s time to start those engines and kick off the Nascar 2021 season with the Daytona 500! The weather looks iffy in Daytona today with rain in the morning and possible thunderstorms later in the afternoon. So the chance that the race will be interrupted by rain looks very likely, but they have plenty of equipment on-site to dry the track if needed. Looking forward to some high-speed action today!

It also happens to be Valentine’s Day. Instead of a single babe, I decided to feature a small but special Valentine’s Day collection. Enjoy!

C8 Daytona 500 Pace Car

It’s Saturday! Woohoo! Once again a Corvette will lead the pack to green for this Sunday’s 63rd running of the Daytona 500! The 2021 Corvette Stingray that will pace this year’s Daytona 500 is a Rapid Blue model featuring special graphics, the Z51 Performance package, and the available High Wing Spoiler. The graphic elements include black, white and blue vinyl stripes, Daytona 500 door decals and an ‘Official Pace Car’ decal just above the rocker panels. Can’t wait to see it on the track in tomorrow’s Daytona 500!

While the C8 Corvette Stingray will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to green for the Daytona 500 on Sunday, the Chevy Camaro and Chevy Silverado will also have an on-track presence at Daytona this weekend. A Silverado 1500 RST will serve as the pace car for Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, while a Camaro SS 1LE will pace the XFinity Series Race on Saturday. Chevy was quick to point out that its three Small Block-powered pace cars have an impressive cumulative output of 1,370 horsepower – making them the perfect trio to kick off this year’s NASCAR racing season.
