Everything Green

It’s Wednesday. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all my Irish readers—and even those who are Irish for just today! Even though there will be no Chicago St. Patty’s Day Parade, the city still went ahead with the tradition of dying the Chicago river green. And with the Covid-19 numbers dropping steadily in Illinois, you can bet there will be plenty of people out at the bars partying it up all St. Patty’s Day style. As for the girlfriend and I, we’ll be fillin’ our bellies with tasty Corned beef and green beer at a family thing tonight.

So, if your plans include going out and getting completely trashed today, be safe and don’t forget to arrange for a ride home.

Horrid White Stuff?

Its Tuesday. What the hell? I go away and it warms up into the 60s and the day I return there’s an ice storm and snow on the ground! And there’s more of the horrid white stuff coming Thursday. Sonofabitch.

The final leg of the drive home was fairly smooth and uneventful. We had heard about the storm and planned to come through hours behind it rather than try to beat it. It worked out pretty well but it was still weird to see snow again. Will post more photos from the trip in my Wednesday update.

I’d say it was good to be back, but it’s not.

Dust Storm

It’s Monday. Spent the morning yesterday looking around Roswell at all the quirky aliens scattered throughout the city. It was fun and I’ll feature the photos later this week.

We traveled from Roswell, New Mexico to Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was extremely windy through New Mexico and traveled through several dust storms. I’ve driven through wicked snow storms and thunderstorms but a dust storm was a new one for me. Starting to look forward to the boringness of Illinois.
