It’s Monday. So much happened over the weekend, where do I start? Well, we apparently elected the 46th President of the United States… and it wasn’t Trump! Suddenly everything just seems better. The girlfriend and I were out in the Vette on Saturday after hearing the news and came across this shack in a crappy small town selling Trump paraphernalia. We thought it was funny that there was now a sign outside offering everything at 75% off. I wanted to stop and ask how business was going, but the sign pretty much says it all.
Anyway, I had heard about this place called Hecky’s Barbecue in Evanston, Illinois, so we took a spin up there. We got some of their pulled pork, tilapia, rib tips, and a giant turkey leg. I wasn’t a fan of the rib tips but everything else was mighty tasty!
On Sunday the 2020 Nascar season wrapped up with Chase Elliott, son of former Champion Bill Elliott, winning the race in Phoenix and the 2020 Nascar Cup Championship. Not bad for a 24yr old, eh? This is always a bittersweet moment for me. I enjoy watching the playoffs but now that their done, there won’t be any racing until the Daytona 500 in February. Sure, the Bears are still playing. But with the way they’ve been doing (5-4) they won’t be around much longer either.
Sad to hear that Alex Trebek passed. He was 80.
Well, we have a couple more days of warm weather before it takes a dive down into the low 50s. And I intend to enjoy it.

Laurel Canyon
It’s Tuesday. If you’re a music fan, especially music of the 60s & 70s, then you’ll want to check out this two-part docuseries Laurel Canyon on Epix, Amazon, or Youtube. It’s a collection of intimate stories from artists living in Laurel Canyon including Joni Mitchell, The Monkees, Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, The Doors, Alice Cooper, Mamas & The Papas, Frank Zappa, Jackson Brown, Linda Ronstadt, The Rolling Stones, and many more. The girlfriend and I watched it over the weekend and it was fantastic, I can’t recommend it enough.
