It’s Monday. Been here in Panama City Beach for a couple days now and its been nice. The temperature has been comfortable in the mid 70s and partially cloudy. I’d like it a little warmer but that’ll be here in a couple days. The place we rented is on the sixth floor and overlooks the pools and beach below. Decent place with just about everything you need and located right in the middle of plenty of restaurants and shops. Gonna look for a good place to get some fresh tasty seafood later today.
I caught most of the Nascar race in Talladega yesterday. I say most because I wanted to watch the race but I also wanted to be out on the deck in the sun. So as soon as there was a wreck or a caution, I’d sprint back out on the deck and return to the TV several minutes later. It was a good race, too. Talladega is high speed race so there’s always plenty of carnage, so I was in-and-out all afternoon and enjoyed every minute of it.
It was probably a good thing that I missed the Bears game because the Colts handed them their first loss of the season. With a final score of 19-11 it probably wasn’t pretty to watch.

Santa Rosa Beach
It’s Tuesday. I started my day down by the pool this morning soaking up the sun and enjoying the sound of the waves coming in off the Gulf. By noon though the clouds started to roll in, so we decided to take a drive up the coast to check out the different towns and beaches along the way. We made our way up through Seaside and Watercolor and stopped in Santa Rosa Beach. Even better, the sun was out because the cloud cover was off to the East.
We spent the afternoon at the beach and decided to hang out and get dinner across the street at the Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar. I was having a hankering for some fresh shrimp and the girlfriend went with the blackened grouper. Both were damn tasty! We took home a couple slices of Key Lime pie and those fantastic, too.
Looking forward to some good sleep tonight…
