It’s Monday. Gloomy, chilly and wet. That’s what we had over the weekend here in Illinois. While I am no fan of winter, I do very much enjoy the comfort food that goes along with the chilly weather. For instance, I had a huge bowl of homemade minestrone soup for dinner and damn was it good. When it gets cold there’s just no substitute for a warm hearty meal in your belly. And a handful of candy corn as well.
I did almost nothing over the weekend. I caught a couple movies on Saturday. The first was a creepy film called It Follows. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something creepy-scary. After that I saw Cloverfield, which was also scary but in a whole different way. I had seen both of these in the theater back when they were originally released years ago. I had been wanting to see them again, so one just lead to the other on a lazy Saturday afternoon.
I started my Sunday out by watching the Bears win yet another game! This time they beat the Panthers and believe it or not, they’re now 5-1. After the game it was time to catch the NASCAR race in Kansas. It wasn’t the most exciting race but it was cool watching Kevin Harvick try to run down Joey Logano in the final few minutes. Harvick would get right up to Logano’s bumper but just couldn’t stick with him. Logano took the checkers and is now leading in the playoffs.
Well, time to put all that excitement behind me and get back to work.
