It’s Friday! The 4th of July holiday helped make this week a short and fast one. I think that’s it for holidays though until Labor Day at the end of summer. And right now the last thing I want to think about is the end of summer. Keep the heat coming!

It’s Thursday. This is something like a beaver sighting but instead with a giant patriotic Bigfoot. It appears ‘ole Sasquatch here lives at a lawn décor business in Tennessee where he greets customers dressed up for the holiday. What’s next, a polka-dot summer bikini? I wouldn’t mind having him by my front door around Halloween! Thanks for sending him in, Dale!

It’s Wednesday. It was a gorgeous day last Sunday so a buddy and I went out to the Big Basin marina in Channahon, Illinois. Neither of us own a boat, but every now and then we like to hang out, have a few drinks, and check out the boating action. It sits on the Des Plaines river and isn’t much to look at, but it’s somewhat local and it attracts a wide array of watercraft.

The only problem is they don’t serve food or any snacks. There’s nothing worse than having a few beers and not having anything to munch on. Finally, last year they parked a food truck out in the parking lot. Nothing fancy, just burgers, fries, and a few other items but not really anything to snack on! Next time I think I’ll smuggle in some pretzels or chips, that oughta do the trick.
