It’s Friday! I’m not sure what kind of meteorological miracle is happening, but Illinois is in the middle of a full-blown heat wave. We’ve had several days above freezing already, and now the forecast says temps will climb into the 50s and higher through the weekend and into next week. For February, that’s basically as close as it gets to summer weather this time of the year!
NASCAR ran the final two preseason races last night in Daytona. Known as the Duel races, they are a pair of short qualifying races held before the Daytona 500 each year at Daytona International Speedway. They set the starting lineup for the Daytona 500 (except the front row, which is determined by single-car qualifying) and give teams a final chance to race in pack conditions before the season officially begins. They’re considered preseason events, but they still matter because drivers race hard to lock into the Daytona 500 field and to start as close to the front as possible.
And… after a 13-year absence, Ram is officially back in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Even wilder—behind the wheel of the No. 25 Ram for Kaulig Racing is three-time Cup Series champion Tony Stewart. Definitely going to be watching that later tonight!
Alright, with Valentine’s Day landing tomorrow, I figured we’d mix things up a bit. Not only is there a special Valentine amateur photo, but I’m also swapping the usual Friday double babes to feature a massive Valentine’s Day gallery. Pretty good deal, eh?
