It’s Monday. Here in Illinois, Mother Nature absolutely loves messing with us this time of year. Last week the temperatures shot up into the 70s, followed immediately by multiple destructive tornadoes tearing through the state—then the thermometer plunged back below freezing. Next came a day with 60-mph winds. Yesterday it jumped back into the 60s again, fired off several rounds of severe thunderstorms, and then—because why not—dropped below freezing overnight and dumped a few inches of that horrid white stuff. Seriously… what the hell?

With the weather being such a mess, the girlfriend and I kept it simple and hung out at home all weekend. We kicked things off with two Oscar-nominated films, Sinners and Zootopia 2. After that we watched War Machine, checked out The Pete Davidson Show, and wrapped it all up with Expedition: Greenland—a documentary about a group of guys attempting to become the first to drive vehicles across Greenland from south to north and then all the way back again. Talk about a mixed bag of entertainment.

And of course there was the NASCAR race in Vegas and the Oscars. My favorite moment from the awards show was the on-stage jam of “I Lied To You” by Miles Caton—an absolutely killer performance.

Alright, that’s it for me… time to stop screwing around and get back to work.
