3D Printed 1/6 Scale X-Wing

It’s Thursday. 3D printers are one of those technologies that feel like science fiction turned real life—you can design something on a computer and watch it slowly appear layer by layer right in front of your eyes. From custom phone stands and replacement parts to detailed models and even houses. They magically turn ideas into physical objects with practically no middleman. What makes them especially cool is how accessible they’ve become: hobbyists, students, and small businesses can all prototype and create things that used to require expensive factories. It’s basically a mini manufacturing plant sitting on a desk, and the only real limit is your imagination.

This one seriously blew my mind. In the video featured today from the CheezyLabs YouTube channel, they 3D-print a massive 1/6-scale Star Wars X-Wing that comes out to roughly 7 feet long with a 6-foot wingspan. Going that big takes some heavy-duty gear, including an Orangestorm Giga printer, numerous spools of Sunlu 5kg PLA+ filament, and a finish using Rust‑Oleum 2x Stone Grey paint. Check out the video to watch the entire build process—from the graphic model to the final layers of paint—it’s ll there!
