Black Friday

It’s Friday! I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was very good. Had far too much turkey, ham, and pumpkin pie. There were a lot of leftovers, so I imagine there will be plenty of creative meals containing turkey and ham in my near future. And pie. I’m looking forward to more leftover pie.

Now that the holidays have begun and Thanksgiving is behind us, I finished my remaining candy corn and have transitioned to a more seasonal appropriate candy—Holiday Mint M&Ms.

Black Friday. It’s wild how we go straight from giving thanks for what we already have, to throwing punches over a discounted air fryer that we don’t have counter space for. The whole thing feels like a national sport. They could call it competitive bargain hunting. You’ve got people camping out just for the opportunity to sprint inside at 5 AM to buy sub-par electronics. It’s not for me. I’ll be happy and warm at home, far away from the crazies and idiots with a smile on my face and peppermint schnapps in my hot chocolate.

Double babes and double jokes… enjoy!

Thanksgiving Day

It’s Thursday. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We were going to host my girlfriend’s side of the family for Thanksgiving dinner this year, but everything changed when her parents both became ill and ended up in the hospital earlier in the week. Thankfully, they’re both back home now, but they’re still dealing with nasty flu symptoms and other health issues. So, now the plan is to go over to my parents place for Thanksgiving dinner. I’m ready for turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, and a damn big slice of pumpkin pie!

Before any of that can happen, I always start Thanksgiving by watching the NYC Thanksgiving day parade. Immediately following that will be my annual viewing of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

That’s the plan. Have a good Thanksgiving everyone.

WKRP In Cincinnati

It’s Wednesday. It’s that time of the year, time for my favorite clip from the classic Thanksgiving “Turkey Drop” episode from WKRP In Cincinnati! No matter how many times I’ve seen it, the chaos never gets old—the chopper, the feathers, the horrified play-by-play, and of course Mr. Carlson’s immortal line, “As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.” It’s the perfect mix of nostalgia and hilarity to kick off the holiday.
