It’s Monday. No, I did not die. At least not yet. If you’re wondering why there was no Friday update, there was an issue between my website host and the company that provides the firewall services. I wasn’t aware of the problem until I attempted to upload the Friday update. I didn’t have the time to diagnose the problem right then, so it was gonna have to wait until I had more time. Several phone calls later, the problem evolved and still wasn’t fully realized until Sunday morning. Once it was correctly identified it took only minutes to correct. Anyway, it has been resolved and everything is back up and functioning. It’s all just part of running a website like this.

I hope everyone had a good Mother’s Day yesterday. We couldn’t have asked for better weather here—nothing but blue skies and temperatures in the upper 70s. We had lunch outside on her deck and spent the majority of the day outside just loving the beautiful weather.

It’s Thursday. I’m sooo damn full. I went with a buddy yesterday to Ace Drive-In in Joliet, Illinois, for the first time this season. We each had our usual burgers, fries, and root beer. The food is fairly basic but the root beer is handmade and it’s fantastic! I’ve been going to this place since I was just a kid. Whenever my friends and I got our hands on some money, usually a few quarters, we would ride our bikes over to Ace for a Black Cow (root beer & ice cream). We rarely had enough money to buy more than one, so we would just get multiple straws and share it. That was a very long time ago. I don’t take my bike anymore, but it’s still one of my go-to places throughout the summer.
