It’s Monday. Brrr! While the southern part of Illinois deals with freezing rain and the horrid white stuff, we have wicked cold temperatures with strong winds. Needless to say, I spent nearly the whole weekend inside. I went out just once and it was to pick up groceries. The only reason I agreed to do it was I didn’t have to get out of the car. Yep, you drive up and they put it in the trunk for you. Meanwhile I got to stay warm and toasty. Best invention ever.
With the holidays now fully in the rearview mirror, it was time to box up all things Christmas. It’s always fun putting it all up, but by the first week in January I’m more than ready to put it all away. And away it is until next December.
The Bears played the Packers for their final game of the season and… they won? Believe it or not, the Bears somehow managed to snap their 10-game losing streak and wrap up the season with a win. I know, I’m as surprised as you are.
The girlfriend made a Beef Barley soup for dinner last night that was spectacular. And she did it off the top of her head, no recipe! It was perfect for a cold winter night. Gonna watch the Golden Globes with a warm, happy belly.
