It’s Monday. The heat is on! It got a bit toasty over the weekend here in Illinois and I loved every minute of it. I was pretty lazy, too. I had a few things that I wanted to get done over the weekend, but it didn’t happen and I’m okay with it.
I heard that street closures and parking bans are beginning this week in Chicago. It’s in preparation for the Nascar Grant Park 220 weekend race coming up on July 1st & 2nd. Nascar in the city… I’m definitely looking forward to that!
Not much else to say today. Time to get back to work I suppose…

Lowndes County, Georgia — On May 24, 2023, a Lowndes County Sheriff’s deputy was responding to a crash along Highway 84, when a car comes down one of the lanes and doesn’t slow down. The car ramps off the back of tow truck along the side of the road, flipping, and landing upright. One of the deputies immediately springs into action and rushes to help the driver. A deputy was hit by flying debris from the crash, and taken to the hospital, but she wasn’t seriously hurt. Georgia State Patrol confirmed a 21-year-old woman from Tallahassee, Florida was behind the wheel of that car. She survived with serious injuries and is still recovering in the hospital in stable condition.
