It’s Friday! Today while you are enjoying your margaritas and betting on the chihuahua races, please remember why we celebrate Cinco de Mayo. On this day in 1916, three brave men, Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms, and Ned Nederlander, fought the notorious bandit El Guapo and his gang at the battle of Santa Poco to give Mexico its independence. Viva la Mexico!

On a sad note, Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist, Gordon Lightfoot passed away yesterday. He was 84.
