It’s Monday. We had plenty of sun and warm temperatures over the weekend so I was extremely happy. It was great seeing everyone outside enjoying the weather. And the summer toys—the rumble of the engines as people get their cars and bikes out of their winter hibernation. I love this time of year!
Nascar returned to the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina for the All-Star race over the weekend. The track had basically sat dormant since it fell off the Nascar circuit back in 1996. But after a whole lot of work they managed to bring it back from the dead and packed the house for one hell of an All-Star weekend of racing. It was cool having Darrell Waltrip back in the booth and seeing all the retro paint schemes on the cars. Twenty-four drivers racing 125 miles on a short-track for a million dollar paycheck… what could go wrong?!
Well, damn. Monday again…

2023 Indy 500 Pace Car
It’s Tuesday. Isn’t that beautiful! The greatest spectacle in racing, the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 is quickly approaching and once again a Chevrolet Corvette will serve as the official pace car. Leading this year’s field will be the 2023 Corvette Z06 convertible in Red Mist Metallic with black trim, two-tone interior blending black and gray with red accents, spider-design aluminum wheels in a bronze finish, and the Carbon Aero package.
So check out more photos below and get ready to start those engines—the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 28!
