It’s Wednesday. Well, all my bitching about the mild summer weather here in Illinois has apparently been heard by Mother Nature. Not only is it hot and humid here in Illinois, but pretty much EVERYWHERE else with the exception of Canada, which everyone knows has only three days of summer sometime in July.

Actually, the heat isn’t the problem. Sure, it’s super-hot, but it’s the excessive humidity that makes it so uncomfortable. Still, I’ll take this over the cold any day. Keep it coming!

It’s Tuesday. Last week a buddy and I checked out a weekly car show in Plainfield, Illinois. We started out by getting some BBQ at Station One Smokehouse. We’ve both eaten there before and enjoy their pulled pork and smoked turkey. If smoked BBQ isn’t your thing, no problem because there’s plenty of other places to eat.

After stuffin’ our guts we walked it off checking out all the automotive goodness! I don’t know how many cars were there, but they regularly pack just about every available space over four blocks or so. If you come out on Tuesday nights you won’t be disappointed. It’s Monday. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 celebrates after winning the Nascar race at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday. It was his first win in the Cup Series, so he and his team were pretty damn excited. And yes, that’s a giant taco piñata!

Back here in Illinois we had a mix of rain and sun over the weekend. I got some work done during the rainy parts and did some reading outside when it got warm and sunny. We have some real heat and humidity moving in for the next couple days, so I’m looking forward to that. Maybe now it’ll start feeling like summer around here.

I want to thank all of those who wrote in earlier when I asked for some suggestions concerning a problem with my van. While checking some of your ideas over the course of a week, I noticed the problem becoming less frequent. It’s completely gone now so I really think it had to do with skunky gas. I ran the tank out and haven’t had a single problem since then. Thanks again for all your ideas.
