It’s Friday! The weekend is here and I’m looking forward to a warmup. After several miserable rainy & windy Illinois days, I hear that we’re in for some warmer weather over the weekend. That’ll be a nice change because the weather has been crap here ever since I returned from Arizona last Monday. 

And speaking of Arizona, I have some extra terrestrial photos from our trip to share with all of you today. Due to a wicked snowstorm in the mountains, we decided to avoid 40 to the north and take a southern route via 10 into New Mexico. We stayed the night in Roswell and the next morning we decided to have a look around. As you can see from the photos, there were plenty of little green alien men scattered throughout the city and even in residential neighborhoods. Many of the businesses on main street have fully embraced the alien motif. For instance, Dunkin’ has a massive alien holding up their sign. There were also places like Stellar Coffee, Alien Zone, Roswell UFO Spacewalk, the International UFO Museum and Research Center, and even a place called UFO Self Storage. Then there were some less obvious like the alien eyes on the street lights. Those were a nice touch.

If you’re into aliens then there’s a damn good chance you’ll like Roswell. You can check out the photos below.

It’s Thursday. I hope everyone survived St. Patrick’s Day without bodily injury. As for the hangover, well, that will likely be with you for a while yet.

I didn’t do any heavy drinking but I definitely got my fill of Corned beef. I’m not a fan of sauerkraut. To me it tastes like limp-lettuce marinated in ammonia and placed out in the sun for several months. That’s definitely not for me. I’m happy with just my beer and heaping pile of Corned beef. 

How about some amateur goodness for today? Good because that’s exactly what I have for all of you. Enjoy!

It’s Wednesday. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all my Irish readers—and even those who are Irish for just today! Even though there will be no Chicago St. Patty’s Day Parade, the city still went ahead with the tradition of dying the Chicago river green. And with the Covid-19 numbers dropping steadily in Illinois, you can bet there will be plenty of people out at the bars partying it up all St. Patty’s Day style. As for the girlfriend and I, we’ll be fillin’ our bellies with tasty Corned beef and green beer at a family thing tonight.

So, if your plans include going out and getting completely trashed today, be safe and don’t forget to arrange for a ride home.
