Nascar is back!

It’s Wednesday. What’s that sound? That’s the roar of twenty-one cars firing their engines after three long months of silence! The Busch Clash, the first of the preseason races was held last night under the lights in Daytona and it was a blast! This was no oval race. Daytona was reconfigured as a road course and it proved very challenging for the drivers and a hell of a lot of fun for spectators. In the final laps it came down to Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney battling for the lead. They made contact, which sent Blaney into the wall and slowed Elliott, allowing Kyle Busch to suddenly pass them both and take the checkers.

Next up is practice & qualifying for the Daytona 500 tonight and then the next preseason races, the Duels At Daytona, on Thursday night!

Florida Treasure

It’s Tuesday. Here in Illinois you would not see a beautiful Corvette like this sitting outside in the dead of winter. Why, you ask? Because it would currently be unrecognizable buried beneath the snow and frozen solid. Thankfully this one is in Malabar, Florida, where it was seen by Tom, a reader who caught it lounging outside in the shade. It’s a beautiful 1966 Corvette Stingray convertible in what appears to be Tuxedo Black with silver interior.  Other notable goodies are factory side pipes and knock-off wheels. It’s also wearing a For-Sale sign so it could already have a new home. No matter where it ends up, hopefully it continues to get the excellent care it has become accustomed to.

Hey keep, saw this little beauty in Malabar Fl today and it’s for sale. Don’t have any other info. -Tom

Brrr!

It’s Monday. I got up yesterday morning and it was -8 degrees outside. That was the actual temperature, not wind chill. We also picked up another inch or two of the horrid white stuff with more predicted for Tuesday & Thursday. Again, how do Canadians deal with this shit and not murder anyone? When I step outside and that cold hits my face, I want to kill anyone who gets between me and the door to back inside.

And speaking of the horrid white stuff, Kelly Thorsen and her family in Plainfield, Illinois, braved the extreme cold to create a giant 18-foot snowman. “We made one for fun and out of boredom three years ago, and it was 17 feet,” Thorsen said. “We promised we’d try to top it as soon as we had enough snow.” It took roughly seven hours to create the giant frosty which is six hours and 59 minutes longer than I would’ve lasted out there!

Congrats to Super Bowl LV Champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! A 7th NFL Championship for Brady—unbelievable!
