Bears… again!

It’s Monday. The Chicago Bears pulled off their second win of the season yesterday against the Giants. It was a good game that saw the Bears come out fighting in the entire first half. The second half, well, that was a different story. They struggled throughout the second half as the Giants worked to close the gap. It came down to the final seconds with the Giants only yards from their goal and needing a TD to win, but the Bears successfully held them off—final score 13-17.

Sadly, this past weekend was supposed to be one of my favorite weekends of the year. That’s right, this time every year is the biggest Corvette show on the planet, the Mid America Motorworks Corvette Funfest. Thousands of Corvettes converge on the Mid America Motorworks headquarters in Effingham, Illinois, for several days of all things Corvette. If you’re a Vette owner or just interested in seeing Corvettes of all ages, you have to see this show. Hopefully all this Covid-19 crap will have run its course by next year so the show and all the Corvettes can return.

2021 Corvette Visualizer

It’s Sunday! Chevrolet recently put its 2021 Corvette Visualizer online and it’s pretty damn cool! The Visualizer allows you the ability to configure all of the interior and exterior options of the C8 in a 3D space. The options are grouped into seven categories: body style, exterior colors,  performance/wheels, exterior accents, trim levels, interior colors, and seats. Each category has numerous options within and every choice you make is represented in the 3D model. You can even adjust the external lighting and other effects.

It’s fun to play with and as you can see above, you can take a photo of your creation to share with others or keep it for yourself.

A Look Back to Computers in 1994

It’s Saturday! What was it like buying a computer back in 1994? If you were around back then and into computers, this should bring back some memories.

For everyone else, this will probably be scary.

Back in 1994,I was working for the famous Silicon Valley startup General Magic. One night, my team and I decided to go into the local computer store In Palo Alto California and watch people buying computers. At the time, I considered the results of this shoot boring and put the Beta SP videotape in my archive. But today, all these years later, it is history for sure. All of my viewers who were around at that time will remember what computers and printers and keyboards and screens were like and how excited we were just to have a bit more memory. For my younger viewers, I do hope that this seems like ancient history, which in a way, it is. I particularly like the scene where the customer sees early video on a computer screen. I can still remember the thrill at seeing that moving image with sound coming over the Internet. -David
