It’s Baaack!

It’s Saturday! Went over to my cousin’s shop the other day and picked up my C5. He installed new linkage fasteners at the shifter and on the transmission. I also had him install a new passenger-side headlight motor because the old one started making nasty sounds last year and finally died a few weeks ago. He also waxed and polished it up for me which was nice! It’s running and looking good for the final month or so before it’ll go back into storage as the weather transitions into (brrr!) winter.

We’re heading down to Effingham, Illinois, today for the big MidAmerica Motorworks Corvette show. Thousands of Corvettes converge in Effingham every  year for this gathering. It’s a hell of a lot of fun and I can’t wait to get down there!

Super Chevy Goodness

It’s Friday! Another fast week for me and the same is likely for the weekend as well. I’m off to Effingham, Illinois, on Saturday for the annual Corvette Funfest at MidAmerica Motorworks. This is the largest Corvette gathering on the planet and it just happens to be a short 3 hour drive away. I look forward to this show all summer long, so I hope the weather cooperates.

And then on Sunday there’s an air show & car show at a local airport. I checked it out last year and it was pretty cool. I like that you can go right up to the planes and check them out. And the car show was fantastic last year with all kinds of cars & trucks that I hadn’t seen before. Again, if the weather cooperates I’ll definitely be out there.

And speaking of car shows, last weekend I was out at the Route 66 Dragstrip in Joliet, Illinois, for their annual Super Chevy Show. It’s an entire weekend of Chevrolet goodness with a huge car show, drag races, and swap meet. I had a blast out there last Saturday and got a shit-ton of photos! So check out the gallery below and enjoy all the automotive goodness of the Chevrolet kind, and the usual Friday double babes & double jokes!

Gone Corvette Fishin’

It’s Thursday. Yesterday was National Cheeseburger Day so a buddy and I went to Mooyah for dinner last night. It was a beautiful night so we were able to enjoy our cheeseburgers outside. And directly across the street there was a car show going on, so that was pretty cool.

Today we’re going fishing… for a yellow Corvette! In this episode of Adventures with Purpose, they go into the Willamette River in Oregon to recover a 1980’s Corvette underwater. It was no easy job, so check out how they finally got it out of there!
