East Coast

It’s Thursday. We were on our way up the east coast yesterday when we decided to stop in Kennebunkport to check out the beaches and grab a little sun. The beaches out here are nothing like the Florida Gulf beaches that I’m used to. Up here they’re very rocky and the sand is much darker. It’s pretty, but in a whole different way.

We arrived in Portland, checked in to our hotel, and went out to stroll around the city. Lots of people with lots of cool places to check out.  Looking forward to trying the local food and, of course, the beer!

Happy 4th everybody! Try not to blow off any body parts, you may want them later!

Ralphy’s House

It’s Wednesday. Before we left Cleveland yesterday, my girlfriend suggested that we take a short spin over to see Ralphy’s house from the film, A Christmas Story. We watch the movie every year, so I figured why not! The house has been restored and turned into a museum. You can take a tour through it, but we were okay with just checking it out and snapping a few photos. They also have a gift shop and a place across the street where they keep replicas of the fire engine and the family car. It was fun to see and now I can’t wait to watch the movie later this Christmas.

We ended up continuing past Syracuse and continued on to Albany, New York. Our next stop will be Portland, Maine. Time to get some lobster!

Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

It’s Tuesday. We made it to Cleveland yesterday and checked out the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. It was a blast! There was a lot of material on bands like The Rolling Stones, The Cars, Blondie, The Doors, and most recent, Def Leppard. Lots of interactive things too.

After that we headed to Lola, Michael Symon’s restaurant, and had a really nice dinner there.

Not too shabby of a day. Next up: Syracuse, New York.
