It’s Monday. It wasn’t much of a weekend for me. I started feeling crappy Friday night, and things got worse as Saturday rolled around. I ended up spending about half the day in bed and didn’t really start feeling better until Sunday morning.
I still didn’t have much energy, but the girlfriend figured it would do me some good to get out of the house, so we decided to head over to Oakbrook for some shopping. I hadn’t been out that way since I worked for a communications company in one of the business towers near the mall back in 1997–1999.
One thing I noticed right away was the traffic. Holy crap, it was ridiculously busy! The only time I remember seeing that much traffic out there was during the holidays. Another big change was the number of restaurants. There are so many now that I couldn’t possibly count them all if I tried. Apparently, Oakbrook spent the last 27 years making sure nobody has to travel more than 50 feet to find something to eat.

Anyway, I’m hoping for some better sleep tonight.
