It’s Monday. I hope everyone had a good weekend! Here in Illinois, it was definitely a toasty one, but I’m not complaining. After all, I’ll take hot and sunny over cold and gloomy any day of the week.
The girlfriend and I kicked off Saturday by spending the first half of the day wandering around an outdoor market. Naturally, we couldn’t leave empty-handed. We picked up some excellent pickles from our favorite pickle guy, along with a few other tasty goodies.
The second half of Saturday was spent at Cruise Night in Morris, where we enjoyed some juicy brats and checked out a whole bunch of automotive goodness. There were plenty of cool cars, plenty of people, and plenty of reasons to wander around with a camera in hand. As always, I’ll put together a gallery featuring some of my favorites and post it later in the week.
Sunday was a little more relaxed. We headed down to my girlfriend’s parents’ place in Mahomet, and it had been quite a while since we’d been able to make the trip down because of all the health issues I’ve been dealing with over the past few months. Her sister and brother showed up as well, so it was really nice to see everyone again. There was good food, cold beer, plenty of catching up, and we spent some time hanging out outdoors. Considering how much time I’ve spent dealing with doctors, clinics, and everything else lately, simply being outside, enjoying some good company, good food, and a beer was pretty damn nice. It was a very good way to wrap up the weekend.
